I was prepared to give my knee a rest last night, stay in and clean the kitchen, maybe even get to bed early. As soon as I got in the car to head home, the radio announced 2-3 inches of snow overnight. Hmm. I love a little snow. My weather app said it would come about 9:00. When I walk right after work I’m usually home about then, but the opportunity to walk as snow was falling was too much to pass up. At least the kitchen would get done.
About 8:30 I pulled up the radar and sure enough, there’s a nice bank of blue to the southwest, but when I animate the screen it shows the bank spinning north with the bottom loop just brushing the west edge of town. So, crap, I had to go to bed early. Which wasn’t a bad call, it turns out.
This morning, walking to the garage, there were tiny snow butterflies dancing everywhere. They obviously were avoiding the ground, they knew what was waiting for them there. So, I did get a bit of snow after all. The clouds, too, were doing some dancing, two-stepping around the bitter blue of the sky. I’m hoping they will sit out the rising of the full Wolf Moon later tonight. Either way, I will be there, twirling in the dry, frigid air just like those snowflies from this morning, dancing with the moon whether I can see her or not.
